Will changing majors generally cause delayed graduation?
What about changing between engineering majors?

I see one of the values of coop being that you can test out a career field before graduating and even change your course if it isn’t for you. But if you can’t even get your first coop until you are a sophomore, at earliest, will you be able to change majors in time without a delay?
My scholarship is only good for eight semesters, and I cannot afford a ninth.

The first year of all the engineering majors is the same, so you have at least one year to decide which track you would like to follow.
About any other major: you can change major as you like, however it is always good to have a plan. But don’t worry too much about it, you have a bunch of time to explore any field/area of study at college. I doubt that 100% of the seniors even know whether they are studying the right thing for them, and it’s even possible to change majors on your last year before graduation.

A lot of people switch majors with no problems. I did it, neuchimie did it, it’s super common. I was maybe a tiny bit “behind” (ie I took genetics a semester later than some, but not all, of students in my major) but I am graduating easily on time.

If you were to switch later in college and you were making a big switch, that might lead to some problems. But it’s unlikely you would make it that far in your coursework before realizing the major wasn’t for you. Even if you ran into this problem (again, unlikely), it would be exactly the same at any college.
