Changing PhD topic?

<p>Sup,</p>

<p>I start my PhD Jan 10th 2011 at KCL in London. I am self financing as I have loot. Anyway, I want to change my intended topic to a study of bilateral relations between the US and Pakistan as opposed to my current proposal.</p>

<p>Will they likely allow me to do that?</p>

<p>Nah, my assigned supervisor is on xmas leave. I will email him on the 3rd. I was just wondering what my chances of being allowed to switch topic are. CC has plenty of dudes in the PhD world, so was hoping for odds.</p>
