I’m an incoming freshman. Recently, my roommate sent me a Facebook message telling me a couple things about what living with her would be like. I won’t go into detail about what exactly she said and what I saw on her Facebook profile, but the point is I’m 110% sure I am not going to get along with her.

So far, I’ve come up with a couple of options:
- Find a roommate on my own, and reassign to live with her.
- Transfer out of the building I’m currently assigned to. I’m currently in Trojan Hall, but I’m open to anything that costs under $4000 a semester.
- Transfer into a special interest community. For me, that would be the “women in science & engineering” floor in Marks Hall.

Some questions about these options:
- Is there any way I can get in touch with other prospective USC students who are also dissatisfied with their roommate? At this point, I’m willing to room with almost anyone.
- Which housing options are less popular than Marks Hall? As in, what should I put down to increase my chances of getting reassigned?
- Is it possible for me to transfer into a special interest community after the fact? The housing reassignment form doesn’t give me the option to do that.
