Do not ask for the reason, it is too long. However, I was waitlisted to one of NYU’s most prestigious and “grade-heavy” schools. However, I now want to be considered as an applicant for Tisch, and I am indicating it on my waitlist survey. How will this work if I haven’t even sent in a portfolio?
It won’t work. You can only be waitlisted for the school you applied to.
Especially if you haven’t even sent in a portfolio. The good news is that you should absolutely be able to transfer later
I’m interested in this too. @jazzcatastrophe Why do you say it won’t work? If it won’t work, what’s the purpose of the waitlist survey? The survey says the following: “If we are unable to admit you to the school, college, or program to which you originally applied, are there other schools, colleges, or programs at NYU for which you would like to be considered on the New York campus? If yes, check which additional schools, colleges, and programs are of interest to you now.” All the schools are available as an option.
