Changing SSAT dates.

I signed up for the SSAT on 11 June, and now I have realized that I don’t have enough time to study, and want to change the date to a later one. But when I go to the SSAT website there are no other tests available in my country (Brazil). Is this normal? Most people take it in November right? What should I do? How can I change my SSAT date to October?

You can change the date of your SSAT. Depending how close to the exam you do that there may be cancellation fees. Information is available on the SSAT website. The next dates are in October, November, December, January, and February.

Thanks for answering, but how exactly can I do that? In the website, there were no other test dates available in my area. Do I contact them somehow? I am quite nervous.

To cancel a test: Please email info@ssat.org with the name of the student and the test date you want to cancel. You will NOT get a refund, though.

You can change the test date for a $35 fee, charged at time of change request, but the new test date must occur prior to August 1, 2016. Registration may not be transferred to the following testing year.

Since June is the last test month for this testing year, you don’t have an option to change your test date to October. You can only cancel your test and forfeit the fee you have paid. Or, you can take the test without reporting results to schools, and use it as a practice. You’ve already paid for it, so why not just take it.

Oh, I see, what a blunder! Thanks for elucidating it for me, guess I’ll have to study extra hard and do it next month. Thanks for answering.

We moved our date due to a school event conflict. However, since you can take the test up until January of the application year , i.e January 2017, why dont you take it but not report it. Good real life practice and just schedule another date for later.
