<p>I dunno what you write, but my word count usually lists something slightly above of 6 characters per word (if you include the spaces). This makes up to 3000 characters - far away from 5000.</p>

<p>Now my statement is 670 w (I don’t have a PLME or BSc essay though) and anyways: If you read some of the ED decision threads, there are guys with twice the wordlimit accepted - it does not seem to matter at all. You don’t have to ramble the space, though.</p>
