Does changing one’s address on bearfacts automatically make the school not charge you for living in dorms if you never got an offer for housing in the first place?

Is it even normal to be charged for living in dorms despite not receiving a housing offer?

if you didn’t sign a housing contract it is hard to imagine that they could collect money for the room and board.

If they are charging you, then your name is on a list of people in one of the dorms.

If a housing offer was made to you but got lost, trapped in a spam filter, whatever, they might still think you are going to accept it. I would check with the housing folks to see why/how they have you listed and the status. if there is an outstanding offer and they are still willing, you have a decision to make. If this is a mistake, they can remove your name.

Once you know that you are NOT in housing, you can contact someone in finance to get that charge removed. You shouldn’t pay unless you do move into a dorm.
