This case was strange and as I posted in the other thread his story was fishy but I guess he was innocent. The check he wrote really was for training. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised by the actions of the Chicago police dept.
Maybe they just didn’t have a good enough case to push forward but the grandstanding by the dept was certainly over the top.
When I first saw this headline, I thought it was satire. But no, it’s Chicago, a town well known for being completely clean and above board in politics. Now that is satire.
The city is keeping his $10000 bond. Is that supposed to be as payment for resources devoted to this case?
“After reviewing all the facts and circumstances of the case, including Mr. Smollett’s volunteer service in the community and agreement to forfeit his bond to the City of Chicago, we believe this outcome is a just disposition and appropriate resolution to this case,” reads a statement from the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.
That’s just so odd. They’re dropping 16 felony charges because of his volunteering and bond?
So…if DA is saying he’s not guilty…would the two brothers who implicated him/gave statements to the police, be guilty of perjury?
Please don’t spread stories that are spreading like wildfire in rw publications. @MaineLonghorn has already issued a warning against anything political.
