Cheap Notebook List!

Some of you may remember my previous thread on the subject, [here. However, a lot can change in 4 months; prices drop, old models fade, new computers come out, etc…

So I have compiled a better and more recent list. You may find it here:

Jaime’s">http://jaimeastorga2000.blogspot.com/2008/10/list-of-cheap-netbookssubnotebooks.html]Jaime’s</a> Corner: List Of Cheap Netbooks/Subnotebooks](<a href=“http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-computers/531865-list-cheap-sub-web-notebooks.html"]here[/url”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-computers/531865-list-cheap-sub-web-notebooks.html)

I am linking to my blog rather than posting the list directly here for twofold reasons.

This board doesn’t allow images. My list has an image of each laptop on it, linked to an online page where it may be bought.

This board doesn’t allow long term editing of posts. This way, if I add or change something, it will still be on the opening post rather than having to be added to the bottom of the thread.

Personally, I think the Eee PC 900HA is one of the best deal on the list. It is a $350, 8.9 Inch dream with 1 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, Windows XP, & Integrated Webcam.

Thoughts? Opinions?

You seemed to have left off the MSI wind as well as the HP Mini Note

My list currently has models up to $400 in price. The cheapest I see HP Mini Note is $430 and the cheapest MSI Wind I can find is $450. I AM thinking of expanding the list to models up to $450 though, in which case both will get included.

EDIT: Nevermind about the Mini Note, I just found a $370 one. Thank you for bringing this to my attention; it will be added shortly.

You forgot an important one:

[Dell Inspiron Mini 9 Details](<a href=“Shop: Dell Site Map of All Products, Solutions & Services | Dell USA”>Shop: Dell Site Map of All Products, Solutions & Services | Dell USA)

That one is pretty interesting, jess0990. I will have to think for a bit about how to make the “build yours” idea fit in my format, though.

There’s also the Lenovo IdeaPad S10 that starts at $399

Done, the Inspiron Mini 9 and IdeaPad S10 have both been added.

also yu might want to change length to screen size…

What’s the difference?

when I think of length think of the physical size of the whole notebook, not the screen. And screens are measured diagonally.

Okay, changed it.

Also, I appreciate the suggestions, but just for a change of pace, did anyone find this list useful or informative?

I found the list informative.

Has anyone tried the Acer Aspire One? I found a review that said it was incredibly noisy. Any thoughts?

[Acer Aspire One Review](<a href="TechnologyGuide - TechTarget;

Wow, prices must be plummeting or something… it’s been less than a month and not only have new computers come out, some of the prices I listed are already too high.

I’ll make an update come december, in time for holiday shopping.
