Cheap Theatre Tickets in Chicago?

Anyone have some tips for really cheap theatre tickets in Chicago?

The League of Chicago Theatres has something called HotTix for discounted tickets at their theatres. Another option for discounted tickets is Goldstar. Check the rush policy at the theatres you’re interested in. That’s probably the cheapest way but, of course, there’s no guarantee that you’ll be successful.

Thanks so much!

Agree with the above poster. Try to call the theaters and see if they have student rush tickets. My daughter was able to get student rush tickets for us at the Cadillac Palace theater for Les Miserables last year ($20.00 each). We stayed in Chicago for a few days and went to the theater the first morning (very early) after the Unifieds were done. It was an amazing night of entertainment.

It may also be worth checking to see what’s playing on the main stage at Northwestern during your visit. We saw the best production of Rent we’ve ever seen earlier this year for only $25 each!

kksmom5, check out what is on at Steppenwolf when you’re there. The best theatre you’ll see in Chicago, and often anywhere else! They have a discount plan which allows for $20 tickets available for every show, in addition to their rush policy. They also have excellent student ticket programs available. Even their full price tickets, which are often in the $65 range are the best theatre bargain you’ll find relative to the talent you’ll see on stage. :)

Thank you all!
