Hi! I’m supposed to be having a meeting and two of the people want to participate by conference call. Any suggestions of who has a conference call service/plan they like? Skype? Other? I am not sure whether both will have access to computers during the call.

Thanks–am looking at & thinking about ReadyConference, which I have participated in for past meetings @ $.079/minute/person. Would welcome suggestions as I work out of my home & will be having my meeting in a conference room that is being loaned to me.

We used Skype for teleconferencing. Sound quality is not the greatest, but hey, the price cannot be beat! My friends just signed up for a free 30-day trial of Go to Meeting, whch they plan to use a few times and then drop their subscription (we use a paid subscription here at work for conf. calling - it works). With Go to, people can call in from a regular phone using a passcode provided by the meeting organizer.

Thanks–have participated in GoToMeeting as well as ReadyConference so far and am still interested in the thoughts & experiences of others. Have never used Skype so far, but am thinking about it as well. Have also tried ReadyTalk as a participant. Have not purchased any of these services & am trying to find out what is available at the conference room that perhaps we can reimburse for.

You can also check into ‘Webex’ but it might be more than you need.

We have used GoToMeeting in the past and it worked well but we recently made a change to Webex. Not quite sure why we changed but Webex works very nicely. I have noticed that we do a lot more virtual meetings, trainings and conference calls now that we have Webex… I’m guessing it’s either cheaper or better for corporate use. Maybe it has more bells and whistles. No issues with sound quality or anything. You just dial in from any phone with a provided passcode and it conferences you in… no need to be at a computer to attend. If you and your participants are at a computer you can set up desktop sharing to share which works really nice as well. We just hired about 10 employees who are working from home right off the bat and they are attending all of their training sessions virtually via Webex.

Thanks for these suggestions. Will wait to see what is available where the meeting will be held & go from there. Don’t plan to be a very heavy user–maybe one or two meetings/month but have so far 2 people who may be calling in & need to get something so they can participate remotely.
