I have a friend who got rejected from Stanford’s EA. She is so determined to go to that school though that she even created a second Common Application that is completely identical to her first as far as information goes. She used a similar last name to do this. She plans on changing her essays and adding ADDITIONAL AWARDS (taking out the ones that aren’t that important), but she is not going to lie about her awards, achievements or involvements. With this “new profile”, she plans on applying to Stanford RD. Would this really work? I’m worried about her, but she’s being stubborn.

LOL I promise that this isn’t me. I wouldn’t want to ruin my reputation, nonetheless take a risk. We both applied to SCEA and we both got rejected. She says that Stanford won’t notice that she applied to EA. Is this true?

Even if they don’t notice… it’s not like she was playing the slots. EA rejection isn’t “if your record were just a teensy bit better in some fringe-y way, then we’d take you.” If they rejected her outright the first time, they’ll reject her again.
