Cheating in SAT

Guys i got caught in December trial cheating using the cell phone in the bathroom there was a msg contains Maths Grid in section . the principal wrote its content in the report + the name of the sender . i received a msg on hotmail from the manager of investigation and secure test material. the message conveyed that all my previous records (6 trials SAT 1) will be locked down and i won’t be able to register again (i am already registering for Jan. + May + June ). the manager called me from a different number not the same number of the collegeboard and he kept asking me about the sender . i have very little information about him and i don’t like to involve him with me actually . i and the manager have too many conversations on hotmail he doesn’t reply my ques. what is gonna happen with me he is only asking about more info ? :S
plz , does anybody face the same conflict ? what happened with him ?

I hope you don’t speak the same way you type/write. That was terrible.

Face the reality-you cheated, and there will be consequences. I’ve never been in that situation but most likely, you won’t have a choice but to listen to whatever they say.

Good luck.

i am not American !! anws thanks :(

Is the email the manager is using from a domain name associated with collegeboard? For example, ‘@collegeboard.org’ or ‘@ets.org’ or anything that looks ‘official’. But ignoring the manager definitely isn’t going to help-- and I would suggest you cooperate with the investigator, for the sake of your own scores and future, to help mitigate the very serious consequences of cheating, including giving up whoever sent you the message.

@ets.org

btw i didn’t take the red letter or sign anything O.o !!
i am not planning to ignore him , i just need to know what will happen ? :S i am in grade 12 there is no time i didn’t even take SAT 2 yet ,which is required to apply in my country’s universities :S

Yup, that’s an official email. At this point, if you want your previous scores unfrozen, I would say cooperate completely. Don’t even worry about the SAT IIs, you have to deal with the fact that you might not have any SATs at all.

Hopefully all of your previous SAT scores are cancelled. That would be nice :)

:( so u have no idea about what will happen ? :frowning: OMG!! im the first in the world to have such a conflict !! u know only American proctors do so . if Egyptian he would just make u cancel it with no report !! :S
anws Thank you  purpleacorn

You keep taking the test (6 “trials”), and I’m sure that they were not legitimately done either. Hopefully this guy emailing you realizes this and cancels all of your scores.

What his is telling you with the “lockdowns” is that they will be investigating all of your previous scores, because if you cheated on this one, it is likely you may have cheated in the past, and just were not caughts. THough of course that begs the question of why you’e taken this test 6 times already.

He wants more information about the sender, because that person is guilty of cheating too, and may have helped others cheat as well.

They are keeping you from registering again because they suspect you will cheat again when you take the other exams. They don’t look well on cheaters because not only does it give you an inaccurate score, but it means the test has been shared. Do you realize when you took the test each time you signed a statement saying you wouldn’t share test information?

If they allow you to keep your previous scores (which I suspect are not as high as you would like, since you keep taking the test), I would expect a statement to be added to your record indicating that you were caught cheating. Schools in your home country may require SAT II tests, but I would worry more about the impact of cheating. How many colleges are going to trust any scores you submit? And even if they trust those scores, are they likely to admit a known cheater?

Cooperate with them, and talk with your counselor or principal at your school to see what advice they can offer.

You deserve whatever happens to you. What the heck bro.

Yeah, I hope they come down hard on you. Cheating can ruin it for everyone–a few years ago an entire test was cancelled after the fact here in Korea because of some cheating. It totally screwed over tons of good students who prepped and took the test legitimately. I hope you crash and burn. And learn from the experience.

I agree with Marvin100. By cheating, you could have potentionally screwed over every single person taking the test.

You’ll be okay. Things won’t be as easy as they would have been if you would have just taken it and done badly, though. Learn from the experience and move on.

actually, this was the first time and i was satisfied from my scores :S but the greed :S i saw most of my friends cheating and getting high scores :S that’s why i decided to gain some help.

marvin100 thanks i hope the same for you.

erosemorin i took the 6 trials with my own effort , but im not an angel !! my scores were improving 30 or 40 my friends 150 or 200 !! and nw im the lucky when i have tried i got caught .

CTScoutmom Thanks !!
pray for me . u know i asked my friend to help me in critical reading so i can get 100 Higher !! he sent a Maths section and my scores in mathematics are better than his scores XD

Go screw yourself heavens. You’re asking for prayer when you just cheated? And you’re calling this unfair? You’re freaking messed up; go back to school and learn how to be a good student.

Dayumm. this thread deserves an award or smth

Heavens1995,
I never been in that situation,so I cant give u any advice.but I hope everything turns out okay. Do not listen to the people on here who wish bad upon u.it was a mistake and everyone makes mistakes.all u can do is just learn from them.ur not the only one Cuz some people on here discuss the answers on the test.that’s the same as cheating
