Cheerleading

Hi, I am currently a junior from Rochester Illinois and am wondering what my chances are of getting into u of I? I have around a 3.6 GPS and make a’s and have b’s in my honors classes. I haven’t taken the act, however I will probably get around a 29/30 with my practice acts. I’m not sure if this is good enough, but I would love to attend U of I and it is the number one school I want to go to! Also, how do my chances look for making the University of Illinois cheerleading team? I was a competitive gymnast for 10 years, and switched over to cheer when I was in the 7th grade. For tumbling, I have a solid round of backhand spring full, standing tuck, and everything below that. I am 115 lbs and was a flyer from 7th-9th grade. I moved schools my sophomore year and was moved to a basing position because of the many flyers the team already had, so I really never got a chance to show off my flying ability, but am open to flying or basing in college. What is required to make the cheerleading team here and what do they usually look for in their cheerleaders?

I don’t know about cheerleading, but if your right about your ACT and a 3.6 (unweighted?) GPA then you will, at the very least, get into DGS. In DGS, they work with you to transfer into a major. You need to be in a program to get a degree. You don’t mention the major you’d like to get into, but I’d recommend selecting a program and applying directly to it as opposed to undecided and DGS. No matter what happens with acceptance to the program(s) you choose for your first and second choices, if you don’t get admitted to those, you’ll always be considered for acceptance to DGS. Do you have a major in mind?
