CHEM 0080B Molecular Structures in Chemistry and Biology

To those who have taken the class as a FYS, how was the class, workload, teacher (Paul Willard) etc.

Williard is a solid professor, and I would have loved to have taken that particular FYS because the topic is cool. I would expect the material to be challenging but interesting and the assessment to be easier than you’d expect. Williard has a tendency to trust that if you’re in class and mildly engaged you’re going to learn the material so he often uses exams to teach students. What I mean by that is that I found his exams often took ideas and principals we learned in class and had us use them in a totally different way that he didn’t have time to go over in class but wanted to make sure we knew before we finished the course.

That was the case for his upper level courses, in my experience.
