I’ll be registering fo classes on Friday and I want to sign up for Chem 0110. I’ve seen that the two professors teaching this course are Stanley Paul and Michael Golde. Of the two, which woould you recommend for a student that has only take an honors chemistry high school course (mind you, I have taken AP courses, so the work load won’t be a problem, it’ll be the material. I want a professor that is very good at relaying the material to the students.)

Stan Paul doesn’t teach Gen Chem lecture. He’s the coordinator for chem labs.

Golde is the most popular gen chem teacher.

Golde is the only chem 110 professor this coming fall

How come on the mypitt website where you can search for classes, it has Stanley Paul next to alot of the lecture portion of Chem 0110?

It’s possible the professor for those classes is TBA. I’ve seen it happen where the name listed next to the class has changed. It could be that Paul really will be teaching the lecture portion of the class, but he doesn’t teach gen chem classes every term like Golde does.

okay, thanks! I was wondering, is Golde a good professor?

I never took his class, but I’d imagine so given his popularity and because I haven’t heard anyone complain about him. His classes fill up pretty fast (moreso for second semester gen chem 2 than 1).

GOLDE IS AMAZING!!! And you can’t resist his awesome British accent! Once of the best teachers I’ve had at Pitt.
