So I’m looking at the Minerva registration page just to do a mock-up schedule, and I’m a bit confused. When searching for sections of Chem 110, the first two that come up are both taught by the same person, however the first option (section 1) is held every MWF, while the second option (section 2), is only held on Thursday. What’s the deal? Why would one even sign up for section 2, if it won’t fulfill the three lectures a week requirement of the course?

Section 2 is held Tuesday and Thursday. (R = Thursday). The MWF option is 50 minutes three times a week (150 minutes total). The Tuesday/Thursday option is 80 minutes two times a week (160 minutes total) - more than the MWF option!

Wow!! 645 Students In Section 1!!

does anyone have any suggestions as to which would be better to take for a science or math class (a MWF section, or a TR section)?

I was wondering how some of the classes I’ll be taking are already nearly filled despite being first year classes, I looked at MATH133 and alot of the spots were already taken it seemed if I understood correctly, and with MATH140 and MATH141, there were tons of open spots, but it seemed like 15-20 people were already in, how are they doing this when registration is August 1st or 2nd?

though registration might not have started for us U0 students, it’s been open for the U1 students for a while now. The system works in a way that they get first dibs.

According to the website, CEGEP students get to start registering for courses as early as late-June/July, so that helps explain why some courses don’t have the remaining the maximum number of places available.

Do you think U0’s would have trouble getting into some of these classes and be unable to take them?
