<p>Do any current/ past Chem 31L students know whether this class covers electrochemistry/ redox, nuclear chemistry, and the elements of the d-block. The reason why I’m asking is I’m planning to transfer out of Duke and I’m trying to see if I will be able to get transfer credit for their intro to chem class. Thanks</p>
<p>No, the class didn’t cover those topics with much detail if at all. I was a recitation TA this past semester and didn’t remember going over that. </p>
<p>The major topics of that class IIRC:
- atomic structure, electronic structure, quantum mechanics, molecular structure, bonding
- Equilibria, acid/base chemistry
- Kinetics
- Thermodynamics</p>

<p>Check out 32L. I would venture to guess that the gen chem material not covered in 31 would be covered in 32.</p>
