Chem 6AH Compared to Chem 6A

Does anyone know how harder is Chem 6AH than Chem 6A? For students who have taken Chem 6AH, would you recommend it? I am a biochemistry major and am wondering if taking Chem 6AH would be suggested?

“Jon Foreman, guitarist of the famous rock band, Switchfoot. He wrote a song called “Chem 6A,” referring to his freshman chemistry course. He was a student at Thurgood Marshall College.”

what does that have to do anything with his question??

iunno…lol

I’ve heard that Chem 6AH is not worth taking…it doesn’t look any better on your transcript than 6A does, and you should probably only take it if you really enjoy chemistry. I don’t know how much harder it is; it does use a different book.

Well, if you’re majoring in biochem, I would think that learning as much about chemistry would be a good thing. You want to build a foundation of knowledge that will serve you for the rest of college and your career, not worry about it possibly maybe lowering your GPA by .02 or looking no better than 6A on your transcript. You’re going to UCSD to learn. Learn.

i took the chem placement test and got into chem 6ah. i’m not forced to take the honors version right? i’d rather take 6a and concentrate my efforts on some of my harder classes…

ucsdhopeful: What was your score?

i probably could have gotten higher if i didn’t give up on doing the last few
