<p>How strong is Chem E at GT? I know that it is ranked highly in overall engineering but how does their chemical engineering program stack up with that reputation?</p>
<p>Their Chem E program was ranked #12 in the nation just recently. I think last year it was #11. Either way, nationally, it’s a very strong program, but it is true that it’s one of Tech’s weaker programs…RANK-wise. Of course, rankings don’t really mean that much–Tech Chem E grads get plenty of job offers, and Chem E’s make the most amount of money after graduation. I know a 5th year Chem E student, and he’s been happy with the program thus far. They even have a Biotechnology specialization track for people interested.</p>
<p>I know Chem E grads who are making 75k+ their first year out of Tech.</p>
<p>That said…it’s probably the hardest major here, not many people stick with it the whole way.</p>
