<p>Given CsI, NaF, SrCl2, KF, and SrO, determine which has the greatest lattice energy and which has the least.</p>
<p>And, in order from least to greatest: CsI, KF, NaF, SrCl2, SrO. </p>
<p>Just want to make sure this is right since I don’t have the answers. Thanks.</p>

<p>Just for clarification, which is more of a determining factor, the atomic size or the ion charge?</p>
<p>For instance, LiF and MgCl2. LiF has the smaller size but MgCl2 has the higher ion charge (Mg 2+). MgCl2 would have the greater LE, right?</p>
<p>no… see the way i learned it was the distance apart on the table… as u follow the trend from lower right to upper left…* actually i’m torn about the mgcl2… smaller ions tend to have higher lattice energy as their bonds are tighter…</p>
<p>Wouldn’t KF have really high lattice energy?</p>
