Chem1A/3A = general chemistry in the eyes of Dental schools?

<p>On the Career Center site, Berkeley says the following:</p>

<p>Can I do the same if I’m applying to dental school? That is, classify 1A/3A/3AL as General Chemistry? I really don’t want to take Chem1B to satisfy the 1 year of Gen Chem requirement.</p>

<p>Actually MCB 102 is not a pre-req, but it is suggested and I guess Chem 1B is only required if planning on attending Dental School at UCLA.</p>

<p>The ‘can be fulfilled’ clause is followed by an ‘either or’ proposition.</p>

<p>You have two choices-- 1A/1B and 4A/4B. UCLA Dental may make exceptions on an individual basis, but that depends entirely on each application.</p>

<p>it looks like it is your safest option. Keep in mind, it is only offered in Spring and Summer.</p>
