Hi - Is CHEM2045 the “weed” out chemistry class I’ve heard about…or would that be Chem2047? Thanks!

“weed out class” is a general term for classes required before you take core major classes. So if you cant pass the class you cant move on to finish the major or track. For chem it could be 2045, 47(most dont take 47), 46 (or 51). You can also extend orgo into the chem sequence.

Thanks ASMAJ - I had taken “weed out” to mean the course was extremely difficult. Was a little concerned about that :).

in general it is

the relationship being that they’re really only hard for people who probably aren’t that interested in the major.
