ChemE Car

ChemE car is a national chemical engineering competition through the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. Each year, Northeastern partakes in this competition. This year, the national competition was in Nashville Tennessee. The premise of the competition is as follows:

The team must build a car that runs on a chemical reaction. Two hours before the competition starts, the judges announce a distance the car has to travel (between 50 and 100 feet) and a load that it has to carry (between 0 and 500 grams). The team that gets closest to the line wins. No mechanical brakes can be installed and the car cannot run on a commercial battery.

This year, NORTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY PLACED FIRST AT THE NATIONAL COMPETITION BEATING OUT 31 OF THE TOP CHEME CARS IN THE COUNTRY.

As co-captain of this team, I cannot emphasize how awesome this is. I just wanted to show potential chemical engineers that Northeastern is heavily involved in AIChE and that we can compete with even the best engineering schools.

as a potential future chemE major at Northeastern I must say… this is awesome!
