Chemistry at BU and a failing grade

Hello. Although my daughter had in the 90’s on her lab work, she was failed in biology ( pre-med class, 1st year) due to a lower grade on her exams. Is there ever any recourse with administration on making up this F so it is not on her record? She clearly has decided not to follow a pre-med path at this point; in her enthusiasm as a student just entering BU , she just did not think through the demands of this path . However, she has reconsidered this and will now choose a different career goal. Would you know if BU administration ever considers this and grants a way to make this up somehow?

Correction on titlwe: Should read “Biology and failing grade”

Not sure, but I think she could retake the course over the summer. [College Summer Programs for BU Students | Take Summer Classes In Boston This Year](http://www.bu.edu/summer/current-bu-students.shtml)
