Chemistry: Naming Compounds?

Do we have to know how to name compounds?

Also, do I need to know the processes in which Oxygen and Hydrogen are usually formed in the lab?

Yeah, you have to know how to name compounds. You just need to know the standard way [Iron (II) way], not the classical way [ferrous/ferric way].

Okay that seems simple.

What about the methods used to produce O2 and H2 in the lab? (like do I have to memorize the equations)?

Yes you do.

Wow…

Have you seen them on actual tests before? It just seems so obscure.
