Does anyone know how to get h2 gas from h20? What should be added to h2o to eventually produce hydrogen gas?? I heard salt and a metal alloy would do the trick. Any ideas???

I know that you can get H2(g) from eletrolysis of H2o.

This is about as simple a process as you can get. You also get oxygen gas. Unfortunately, for H2 burning car technology, it is still expensive as you use up a lot of energy.
