Chemistry Requirements

Some of the stated requirements include for particular majors

CHEM 121/122 General Chemistry with Laboratory or CHEM 151/152 Honors Chemistry with Laboratory

Is this a number mistake (did they change course numbers under the registrar)? Is it supposed to be “Chem 121/123” >> Chem 121 + Chem 123 (Chem + Lab) for just one semester of chemistry, or is it Chem 121 + Chem 122 with labs of Chem 123 + 124 for two full semesters of chemistry?

Thanks

CHEM 123 is the lab that goes with CHEM 121 and CHEM 124 is the lab that goes with CHEM 122. Those requirements dictate a 2 semester (year long) chemistry sequence.

I think you may have missed the point of my question; I understand that, but I’m wondering if the syntax of “CHEM 121/122 General Chemistry with Laboratory or CHEM 151/152 Honors Chemistry with Laboratory” meant CHEM121-124 (due to corequisites) or simply CHEM121 and 123 where it was meant to be written as CHEM121/123 due to a change from when CHEM122 used to be the laboratory that corresponded with CHEM121.

I’m pretty sure it was meant to be written as it was written. Also, it’s too early for you to be worrying about this. Go to an amusement park or something.

Got my wisdom teeth out, so I’m trying to find something to do while I suffer through recovery. Besides, I have to have an idea of what classes to take when we register during O-week :P

It means CHEM 121-124 due to corequisites.

And you should be enjoying you summer. You have an entire week when you’ll have two profs, and three students to figure all of this out.

Mkay, thanks.

I’ll be going through oral surgery in a couple weeks, so I empathize, but you really don’t need to worry about this right now. You’ll have plenty of time during O-Week.
