is the general chemistry “pre-test” required if we plan on getting AP/IB credit in chemistry?

Maybe, if you plan to take 142. And in that case, I’d imagine you take it later closer to enrolling in 142. If you are taking 221/222-Z, ignore, do not take the placement test.

are both 141 and 142 considered general chemistry? is 221/222-z considered general chemistry? i looked at the prerequisites for majoring in nursing (which i might do but not sure), and it states that if im going to do it, i wont have to do emory’s graduation requirements. but what if i decide a year into it that i dont want to do it anymore, will i have problems graduating?

Is ap/ib credit for 141 do I go straight to 221?

Chem 221-222-z is organic chemistry (and not the one for nurses, though I’m sure the nursing school would accept it. Also, I’d imagine that if you decide not to do nursing, but to do something else in science, this will cover you better than taking “organic chemistry for nurses” which isn’t at the same level). As for waiting until later, it could pose a problem, but I doubt it. You should cover yourself and do the first year seminar and the freshman writing requirement if you need to. However, even going a year w/o doing Emory’s GERs will not set you back the requirements are really easy to fulfill.
