GA … THANKS for sharing this BIG USNA news! I wonder if the plebes will be on parade for this ceremony? How very cool … the VP of the United States of America and Sec Gates, etc.

Do you get the idea that THIS is really the BIG TIME! Man, I’m bustin’ for my offsprung! :)

^^^^^
Since the ceremony will take place on Worden Field, I would conclude that the Plebes will be participating in a formal parade and a pass in review. SECDEF will probably be the reviewing official.

In the words of Abe Lincoln, the plebes will: “Little note, nor long remember the words that are spoken here today.”

Yea, you’re right … but 150 years later, we’re still remembering whatever 'tis that Honest Abe told us we’d forget.

And I’ll bet these Plebes will recollect in the years ahead the day Veep Cheyney came to see them strut their stuff. “LEFT … LEFT … LEFT RIGHT LEFT”

Here’s hoping he leaves his shotgun @ home.

This must by why a multi-force parade unit was on the field practicing earlier this week along with the Nvay Band.
There was no indication that plebes would be involved; not to say it wouldn’t happen, but there were plenty of other parade units out practicing on Wed. morning.

jadler is correct … watched some of it on the Pentagon channel. Aside from the retiring admiral, that drum major was pretty impressive! And more so his cover.

That is correct. I would bet that the only people invited to yesterday’s ceremony, from USNA, was the Dant, Supe, AcDean, and others with similar credentials. Other than that, NO ONE from USNA was authorized to be near Worden.
