I think it may be the 2nd, seeing as the 1st was a Sunday and students who were mailing material in couldn’t send it today. Possibly?

It said to “submit it on Sunday” though. Idk I emailed them, but they just sent me the same email again…

Who should I email to see if my application went through?

There’s 24/7 post offices now I sent (mailed) my supplement today

so i submitted mine and it said 11/02 and that makes me really nervous
and then i re read my supplement and found an error
like a fragment i forgot to delete.
so…yea
not very positive any more

Yea, so I submitted it before 12 in my time zone, and it said 11/01 but now it suddenly changed to 11/02. ***. Seriously.

I’m hoping that because of the whole confusion of Nov1 /Nov2 issue that it wont matter as much

I think its on account of the fact that it’s daylight saving’s day as well. Lots of times need to be matched up, hah.

I don’t think it should be a matter. Even if it is indeed Nov 1st, no one’s going to be sitting there to reject or disqualify you because you’re a couple of hours late. And if they do indeed do that, then perhaps UofC isn’t the right school anyway.

I agree with srrinath.I now need to know how to create a Chicago account.Hm,what are y’all folks doing now besides going to school?..I’m studying for SAT2 and doing other apps…errrr

Errr… I haven’t applied yet because the email said November 2… Is the deadline actually November 1st?

@fuse1921: Mine says “downloaded” 11/02 as well, so I wouldn’t worry about it unless it says “submitted” 11/02.
@ GatitaZ: school+normal life, 8 other apps, oh and stressing

submmitted 9:30 last night! I have no idea how I’m going to get through this month!! how do we set up the chicago account though? The only emails I received were the confirmational stuff from the common app…

Bleh, I don’t see the option to schedule/request an interview in my Chicago account.

@swimminvegan, I created mine a long time ago, just go to the site and create one.

https://collegeadmissions.uchicago.edu/

I haven’t gotten any official mail from Chicago since I turned in the application either.

From their website:

After you submit your Common Application or Supplement, you will receive an email with instructions on how to create your Chicago account. Please note that there is a time lag between when you submit your application through the Common Application and when our side receives it. You will receive this email within 48 hours of submitting your application.

And:not receiving an account activating email after more than 48 hrs since I submitted my app,I dialed the international call to the admission office…Very nicely, they then sent me one link right away.I logged in,finding myself still unable to request an interview.Plus, the assigned counselor is out of her office,in addition to the fact that it’s Nov.3rd tmr.Oh dear.

Well people who thought it was Nov 2 deadline, good news I sent mine (barely) on midnight Nov. 1 and its processed but this is the reply to an email I sent … two days ago? (Regarding the Nov2 deadline on the Uchicago email)

Thanks for your email. The official deadline is November 1,
but we will still process applications that arrive on
November 2. (The date in the email was a misprint, and we
apologize for any confusion.)

Sincerely,
Office of College Admissions

^ Wow - a misprint!

The request an alumni interview link appeared on my homepage about two days after I submitted. It takes them some time to update their system. If you are having issues, call the undergrad admissions office since they are quite helpful. That’s what I did. :)

Anyone know if there is a way to see that all of our application materials were received by the University?? I know my transcript was sent weeks ago and I submitted the online stuff a couple weeks ago as well, but I just want to make sure that my ACT scores & stuff got there…

My son got the email with the link today. He successfully requested an alumni interview. As a point of reference, he submitted his app on 10/31.

@Terp: I totally forgot that I had already set up an account after the open house this summer… haha
@chitown: on the common app it says when each part of your app was downloaded by the school so I’m assuming that means they’ve received it. I’m hoping to get an email from the school sometime in the next couple days confirming they’ve received everything.
