Chicago EA People

Haha niice @kitkat
I got deferred from Columbia on Thursday
and now its just me, a carton of Breyer’s Cappuccino Chocolate Ice Cream and the refresh button on my email
I can’t focus on finals which is not a good thing

@msqt

yeah, I chilled with my home boys ben and jerry last night after I finished my finals (ochem and diff eq… bleh). I think my ice cream consumption is going to be disgusting this week.

do y’all know when chicago sends out letters?

And sorry about columbia :confused: At least it’s not a rejection!

@msqt91092: Fellow Columbia ED-er. I got rejected. :(

Well, good news is ALWAYS possible, even if other schools didn’t work out for you. Good luck!

Yep, of course. Looking forward to hearing from Chicago!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH…random release of anxiety

Chicago. Why do you hate me? Please tell me I’m rejected already D:

i live a few blocks from u of c, and i will be devaaaaastated if they reject me.
=(

Dear Chicago,

I understand you’re amazing and traditional, and all of that, but can you just stoop to our level for a minute and give in to the anticipation? You know that we all love you. And, you know that we think you’re he best. And, you even know which ones of us got accepted. Why not just tell us already? You’ll just increase your yield by making us happy. And, all the cool kids are releasing their decisions. Don’t you want to be cool like Dartmouth or Stanford? Peer pressure is not a bad thing. It makes colleges cool. You want to be the cool college, right? Cool colleges release their decisions and don’t make thousands of people wait around. Cool colleges show up to the party fashionably late, but not too late. Well, Chicago, you’re getting to be too late. No one likes the guy that shows up to the party when it’s almost over, eats all the food, and then leaves without talking to anyone. Come on, Chicago. Be the cool college.

Thanks,

Katie

Haha katie that’s awesome.

Ahhhhhhhhh!!
Arrrrrr!!
:(

i am a woman obsessed.

I think decisions will
definently be out tomorrow or Tuesday.

Katie, SO TRUE. This is a public plea, UChicago, to let us know already.

Thanks.

^Surprise, surprise!

Yes, they’ve committed to releasing decisions on or before the 15th so I doubt that they’ll keep us waiting much longer.

Did they really commit to that? Last I heard the office was still saying “mid to late December”. (Hmm. Is there a hyphen after “mid”?)

Yeah, I don’t think they committed. Regardless, we should know sometime this week.

Ugh, I don’t think I can wait much longer!!! I permanently have my email up, and I check my UChicago profile like every other minute. AND I keep monitoring all the threads on CC on the off chance that someone’s received it. *pulls out hair

In case anyone is still wondering (okay, it’s unlikely that anyone cares, but bear with me) about the question of using a hyphen in the phrase “mid to late December,” I looked it up in the University of Chicago Press’s style manual (where else?).

Because “mid” can stand alone as an adjective, they recommend “mid to late December,” but say that “mid- to late December” is also “impeccably logical”.

^ Very nice. Good to know.

Haha hopefully tomorrow, everyone :)
