is it possible for someone to get into U Chicago who goes to a challenging private school but only has around a 3.5 gpa if lets say they apply ED (not including sports and all the ec’s and stuff like that)

Chicago has EA not ED. Do some basic research about what Chicago is like as an undergraduate institution, because it is NOT your typical college, then ask questions.

c’mon RESPONSE???

It’s possible. Chicago doesn’t cut off at a certain GPA. It all depends on the rest of your app.

Yes, it is possible. My child had a gpa in the 3.5 range with many honors courses and an SAT score of 1400 is you superscore ( Chicago didn’t count the writing score a couple of years ago) She went to a highly rated public school which sends many students to highly rated universities. She did have a couple of special extracurriculars, especially music which I think may have helped her out. Anyway, Chicago was her first choice and she clearly let them know that. She applied EA and was deferred, but was accepted regular admission and she loves it there and is doing well.
