Hi! So I noticed that there are 3 levels of physics (waves to mechanics, mechanics to waves, honors). Are they assigned according to math? Like Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II? Or how are they assigned?
Ah I was wondering the same thing… I’ll come back to you if I find an answer, but I’m still unsure.
Also, is anybody else doing the physics primer? I figured that it couldn’t hurt…
@nico.campbell I’m doing the primer too
Most freshmen take Physics. In my students day, your level was based on SSAT score, both Verbal as well as Math.
As a current Choate student, I know a bit about how this process works. Except for Honors Physics, Waves to Mechanics and Mechanics to Waves will both teach you the same thing. The registrars will do a good job of placing you in a class that reflects your academic history and performance. If a class is too easy or too difficult, you have a two week grace period to change classes.
I wouldn’t worry about it too much.
Best,
