<p>I’ve been accepted into BC, BU, Northeastern, Miami, Lake Forest, American and GW. I’m thinking that I’ll probably end up in Boston or Miami but I’m not sure which one I should go to.</p>
<p>I’m looking for an urban campus with an excellent academic program and a liberal-arts oriented education. I want to study Law in the future so Northeastern’s College of Criminal Justice and their Co-Op programs are extremely appealing. However, how do these factors compare with a ranking of 96/100 in the US Top 100 College Ranking? </p>
<p>I’m interested in attending a university where there is a diverse student body. I’m an international gay student so the idea of going to a Catholic institution is not especially appealing to me, even though I realize that BC has progressed a lot lately in that respect. As well I know that even if BC is a more conservative institution Boston is a pretty liberal town. BU is appealing because of their Mock Trial Association, Men’s Volleyball Team and it’s reputation academically even though they don’t have a specific major that deals with law, even if they have a pre-law advisor program (how does that work, by the way?)</p>
<p>Miami looks good and ranks above BU in the ranking I referred to above but I haven’t been there and I don’t know what it’s like (unlike Boston). Finally Lake Forest offers me the best scholarship (all of the above offer around $15,000 except for BC which doesn’t offer anything, and Lake Forest offers $20,000) so that’s another factor to keep in mind.</p>
<p>In a nutshell, I like NEU’s concentration in law and criminology as well as its GLBT reputation, I like BU’s academic reputation, I like Miami simply because it’s Miami and I like Lake Forest for the money. Which one would you guys take? Why? What are NEU’s most blatant disadvantages? How gay-friendly is BU?</p>
