<p>I thought I might put off writing essays until the last week of November, but the first English assignment is to write something for college.</p>
<p>I haven’t tried CommonApp essays yet. They look quite generic. I just found from a RANDOM college a prompt that I like (which isn’t much of a prompt at all)</p>
<p>The quote is from Portrait of the Artist as a young man. The quote quite touched me a bit.</p>

<p>There is pretty much a word play on the preposition “by” here. I thought it’s quite clever. Since I am an immigrant, currently still with international student status, I thought this really applies to me.</p>
<p>I am very thoughtful about issues and ideas, but not particularly good when these things pertain to myself. So when I write my essay it tends to be not sounding like who I am (not enough intelligence, I guess. Not being arrogant sounding).</p>
