choosing a college

Hi. I want to go to a university. My first choice is WVU. but im not sure if its a good choice or not because its in “west virginia”… a poor hillbilly state… I think i would rather go to a school with a good name.

Right now i have $400 saved up for college in january. Im not going to be able to afford much but finiacial aid will help out a little bit. My parent’s most likely won’t help pay for my college at all but will still claim me as a dependant which i wont be able to do anything about because i don’t own anything.

give me some ideas?

If you are from West Virginia, then going to a state university is obviously the most cost efficient way to go.

There are some out of state state universities that are also pretty reasonably priced.

LSU
University of Oklahoma.

there are others as well.

go to the back of the latest US News Rankings, and look through all the colleges, where they show the prices.

But in my view, unless you are a tip top student who can get into a highly ranked school, I see nothing so bad about going to West Virginia University.

You might even have to go to community college, and then transfer in your junior year.
