Choosing a Roommate?

<p>Okay here’s the deal: I am NOT in the honors program (but plan to apply for second semester) but I still put it as my first choice because they let a few non-honors kids stay there. </p>

<p>My housing preferences:

  1. Honors Housing
  2. Moorehill
  3. Breckenridge/Prather/Roberts
  4. Kinsolving
  5. Jester</p>

<p>Also, I put my $50 housing fee pretty early (October) if it matters…</p>

<p>SO… my question is how should I go about finding a roommate? Will I have a better chance of getting honors housing if I find a roommate who is actually in the honors program? Or would my chances be better if I put down no roommate preference at all?</p>

<p>You have to select the EXACT same dorms as your roommate or there’ll be an error message. I’d find someone who’s willing to put down the same dorms as you and select the option for “I prefer my housing choices, even if it means I won’t be with my roommate” or whatever. If your roommate doesn’t get into the honors dorm but you do, it will put your dorm choice over your roommate. You will not get an advantage by picking a roommate already in the honors program.</p>
