Choosing between NYU and UC Irvine

Hey guys! Only 6 days until I have to make a deposit so please help me out!

I got into NYU’s School of Professional Studies for Hospitality Management while I got into UC Irvine’s Psychology Department of School of Arts and Sciences. While I have a passion and interest in psychology, I see hospitality a more promising major to get a job after 4 years (prove me wrong if you have evidence!).

Pros of NYU are that the academics there seem more rigorous compared to UC Irvine’s. Also, the percentage of grads employed or attending grad school is quite high (something around 95%). Also, NYU has the “name” and reputation. I also received a 50k scholarship to attend. However, on the down side, I DO NOT feel like I’m a city person. I feel like I would be stressed waking up in the middle of the city every day. I also hate snow.

Pros of UC Irvine are that I would prefer to be in a suburban area with lots of sun. I hate cold weather and love the weather in California. Also, I love how it’s location is only 1 hr from LA and 20 mins from Disney Land. My family will be moving with me, so my family will be safer and my brothers will have a better education at Irvine. However, on the down side, I heard it’s difficult to change majors in UC Irvine and according to their website, the minors are quite limited (no minors in marketing business). Their classes are huge because it’s a public school and the school is low on budget and it gave me no scholarship grants (but I will be able to pay in-state tuition after my family moves in).

Should I choose location over academics or academics over location and why? Help please!
