Choosing Between Oregon and Cal Poly

I’m a senior and have been accepted to both schools. I’m interested in studying either computer science or medicine. Oregon is about an hour and a half away and I received a presidential scholarship to go there so it would be around 5k a year. Cal Poly is 12 hours away and would cost around 25k a year. I’m trying to decide whether the cost is worth it. How much will student loan debt really affect me later on?

“How much will student loan debt really affect me later on?”

it will affect you a LOT, especially if you do decide to go into medicine which will probably require even MORE student loans.
Think of it this way- could you- right now-afford to buy a $100,000 Tesla? NO?
then there is NO WAY you should commit, at age 18, to student loans that will cost you more , with interest, than buying that car!!
Congrats on your acceptances but this is a no brainer-get the best UG education you can at the lowest price!
