Choosing High Schools

I am having a little bit of dilemma here.
I have two schools to choose from: One school offers Advanced Placement, it has longer history(40 years), and it has a better college acceptance rate. However, it takes around 90 minutes to get there from my home.
Another choice would be a much smaller, and a relatively new school(has a history of 10 years). This school provides the full IB Diploma program, and it has had somewhat worse college acceptance history. But this one is much closer to my home, it takes only around 30 minutes. And this school has much stronger theatre program, which is one of my main areas of interest. Oh, and this one is a Christian school, but I don’t really consider myself to be religious. They warmly appreciate diversity, though.

Which one would make me better prepared for college?

90 mins is quite a drive each way for four years, IMHO. The resources of the nearer school don’t seem bad at all. How well you utilize its resources will determine how well prepared you are for college – not its strengths/weaknesses vs. the other school.

To me, the nearer one seems like a no-brainer.

You do NOT want to spend 3 hours a day commuting! Pick the closer one. The IBD is a great program, and it has a theatre program that interests you. Totally agree with @T26E4 , it sounds like it has everything you need to prepare yourself for college.

I’d go with the closer school, especially if it’s brand of religion is open-minded.

Agreed. Personally, I would hate to wake up 90 mins earlier than necessary just to go to school…
