Choosing major please help!

I am going to be a freshman (sort of) in college next year and want to major in either aerospace or mechanical engineering with a physics minor. I want to eventually do graduate study in propulsion systems of some sort. Should I major in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering? If mechanical, should I specialize in "mechanical systems", "energy systems", or "materials"?

I'm pretty much doing exactly what you described -- Aerospace major with a physics minor and a future interest in propulsion.

For undergrad it doesn't really matter too much because you can easily switch from Mech to Aero (or vice versa for graduate), but propulsion is definitely more of an Aerospace topic than a Mechanical.

Well if you're interested in propulsion then Aerospace. I'm sure you could get some propulsion related classes in mechanical, but Aerospace you'll be required to take those related classes along with being a lot more likely to find the related jobs.
