I know it is really early to be asking about this since DD is not even done with her first semester yet but she is a “planner” and needs to be aiming at a target. She has asked for some input and I’m not sure how to help her.
She is attending a SLAC, studying IR/Econ and is pretty set on that path. Her school offers a 4+1 MA program with The Graduate Institute Geneva (IHEID). The program seems interesting to her, she loves the shorter timeframe, and lower cost. While admission is not “guaranteed”, they have not had a student be rejected. I am just wondering if IHEID is as respected as more well known schools like Georgetown or LSE. I don’t think her SLAC would partner with an inferior school but I am wondering if going down that path will limit career options since it is less familiar (well, I’m not an IR professional but I hadn’t heard of it).
