In general, religious colleges and universities are not noted for their strength in science, math, or engineering. You might try looking for schools with [ABET](www.abet.org[/url)-accredited engineering or computer science programs, or [ACS](<a href=“American Chemical Society”>American Chemical Society)-approved chemistry programs. If their engineering, compsci, and/or chemistry programs can meet these standards, then their other math and science programs are probably solid too.

Hope College (Holland, MI) and Calvin College (Grand Rapids) are certainly worth looking at for those fields!

Thank you Corbett and Zetesis.
I looked at Hope College and Calvin College, it seems like both colleges are ABET and ACS accredited.
Other suggestions? Thanks!

Agree with Calvin and Hope. Other possibilities:

Wheaton (the one in Illinois). No engineering program, but offers 3-2 program with IIT. ACS-accredited for chemistry.

Baylor. ABET and ACS accredited.

Baylor, Wheaton, Calvin, and Hope are all ranked in the top tier of their respective categories by US News.

Other religious schools with respectable math/science include a number of Catholic schools and BYU, but these may or may not meet your definition of “Christian”.

I know Wheaton in Illinois has a really excellent science department, and I think math is respectable as well.

St. Olaf has very, very strong math and science programs – very high percentage of their graduates go on to PhD programs and medical school.

Not sure about math, but doesn’t Samford have a pretty good science program. I know that they minimally have a pharmacy school there as one of my d’s friends will be going there.
