I don’t have those hot chocolate cups…but I have a friend who does! Her mom made them.

I don’t have Easter dishes either…but I do have pastel plates I could use in a pinch!

I have a Macy’s brand that was purchased during a close out. It looks like Lenox’s Holly. It has matching wine and water goblets

My casual Christmas dishes disappeared in a move. They were Lenox Winter Greetings Everyday (hefty plates with four different bird designs along with tartan ribbon and bows around the rim.) Lenox still makes a fine china version, but I don’t like it as well. For a while, I mixed in some Fiesta ware Christmas tree mugs, plates and serving pieces with my regular green Fiesta ware, but I gave those away when hand, wrist and shoulder problems made using such heavy dishes uncomfortable.

Now, I have some Lenox Chirp Holiday plates (dessert size, I think) that I use for lunch. At dinner during the holidays, I use my grandmother’s china. Noritake makes some contemporary holiday china that I love, but I don’t want to buy any new pieces until we’re more settled.

I like that Lenox Chirp! But I do NOT NOT NOT need more dishes!

I also have the Niko Holiday Time china and I love using it every year. Right after Thanksgiving it comes out and is used for all meals right through Christmas. I also have big mugs that are red with snowflakes on them, which I purchased from Khol’s several years ago. I bought a good number of them because I often host a good number of people here during the holidays and love serving a hot russian tea (made with lots of fruit juices and cloves and cinnamon). This is helping me calm down while watching football. Thanks, guys.

Does anyone here have Halloween dishes? :D

I. Need. To. Stay. Off. Macy’s. Dot. Com!

No Halloween dishes…not even a coffee mug!

I have Nikko CHRISTMASTIME. My mom got me started on the set 30 years ago and I’ve added to it over the years.
I love getting it out the day after Thanksgiving. We use it every day until mid-January. It’s casual enough to be used every day but makes a nice place setting for special holiday meals.

Nope. Just Christmas and every day.
Years ago my brother and his wife were stationed (Air Force) in Germany. It was a “thing” to go outlet shopping in a couple of villages near where they lived (stationed at Ramstein, but I don’t remember where they lived…not on base) where Villeroy and Boch had a honest-to-goodness “outlets” where they sold slightly irregular pieces of their china. My SIL had friends who’d collected crazy amounts of china with all kinds of different patterns. And there were patterns and pieces that you really cannot get here in the US.

I still have a few pieces of the set that I started when we visited there…it’s called Baurn Blume (not sure I spelled that correctly). You really cannot get it here. My mom started a set at the same time called (at the time) Bon Appetite (now called Appetito) and I thought it was pretty as well, so my SIL would find pieces and send them to us. She ended up finding more of the second pattern and sending it, rather than the one I originally chose. Also, when my mom passed away years ago, I was given her pieces. So I have a good bit of it and I do love it.

Thanksgiving and Christmas are about the only times we use the “good” china. It’s not specifically a Christmas pattern, have never felt the need. We have a fairly large set of Minton that has been consolidated through a couple of generations, and I just love it, so special Christmas dishes would just mean I got to use the Minton less often.

I do have some accent pieces that I’ve picked up here and there.

I don’t have Christmas China ( I don’t have any China actually ) My " nice " dishes are hand painted Wiliams Sonoma that I can’t get any longer…and not enough to serve a larger family gathering. Last year, I bought some plates from Home Goods that I can use for any large gathering . I bought them in two colors , red and white . They dress us a table very nicely when paired with some of my table linens and the white ones can be paired with my WS plates. They were $5 a piece , so I really don’t care if they break

My husband got me the Tiffany Christmas china 10+ years ago. It is gorgeous. Thanks to this thread, I just looked on the site and see that they have added some lovely pieces. I’d love to have the hors d’oeuvres plate :)

I go for Christmas napkins that catch my interest and pull out the silver (my grandmother was into that, then DH was an only child so we got his mother’s and aunt’s.) Just bought some thick paper napkins on sale- red cardinals (the bird, though my family would get a kick out of it, if it were the churchmen.) And we have those gold charger plates so many people have.

We also have the Ikea whites but also his mother’s and aunt’s old china. Which plates we actually use will depend on whether we think we are up for all the hand washing, ha. That’s a kid job.

ps. we also have a turkey platter. I think my mother got it for opening a bank account, decades ago. A treasure.

Does anyone use those English Christmas crackers on the table? My family loves them and each year we keep looking for different kinds–they’re really fun.

@Bromfield2 Yes! I love them and often find them at TJ Maxx and World Market.

For many years we always had a holiday dinner hosted by close friends – the husband has been my parents’ best friend for over 60 years. His wife always gives everyone at the dinner a hand-painted Christmas plate done by a young artist friend of hers. Each year has a different design and they’re really beautiful. I finally have a set of 10 now and I use them at Christmastime. They’re unique!

Christmas crackers: I had used a number of years, then when goskids went to college, I skipped, thinking they had outgrown them. Wrong. First thing they noticed as we sat down to Christmas dinner. “Where are the crackers?” and
“Fail” were the comments. Guess I won’t make that mistake again…

I used to get my Christmas crackers at TJMaxx and Cost Plus. Thank you for the reminder - I need to revive the tradition!

I love Christmas china, but I don’t have any. We’ve always spent Christmas away from home, so it was never something that seemed necessary.

BB, that is too good of a deal to pass up!
