Do you have Christmas china? If so, what pattern?

We use Nikko’s Happy Holidays. Personally I prefer Spode’s Cheistmas pattern, but ours is fine. I love having special Christmas China.

We went away to Christmas for 20 years to a b& b, and the owner used her grandmothers Spode pattern.
Serving was family style, you took your plate to the counter yourself, even the 4 yr olds. But there was never a mishap.

We are going back for Christmas this year, so curious as what it will be like, since the original owners have retired.

Yes. The pattern is called Ikea everyday ware.

I’m so glad you asked this question. I picked up Christmas dishes from various goodwill trips earlier this year and then packed them all away in the basement! I don’t think I would have remembered to find them. I’ve always wanted Christmas dishes but would never splurge on them- so this worked for me. I dont know the brand but they are similar to those above with Christmas trees.

Found out last night that I am not hosting Thanksgiving this year. Much to H’s dismay, I brought out the Spode Christmas tree dinnerware today! Many fond memories associated with it, I love it, have a lot of it and it just bugs me that it’s in the china cabinet for 11 months. So to heck with the calendar, we’re using it now!

Lenox Holiday. We have the dessert plates, and cups and saucers. And several nice serving pieces. Our plates are plain cream color with gold rim.

We use the plates year round. The Holiday from Thanksgiving until New Years.

It is one of the very few wedding presents we have still…that we actually use.

I love my Spode! I replace our every day plates and flat ware the week of Thanksgiving (we travel to family) and use it till after New Years. Its a nice and festive change.

You guys are such bad influence! Mr B caught me looking at china. I really don’t need another set of dishes! When is Macy’s f&f sale? :)

Pfaltzgraff Winterberry. It’s reasonably priced to begin with, but there was a killer sale after Christmas a few years ago and we bought all kinds of serving and accessory pieces. We use it from Thanksgiving through mid-January because I enjoy it so much I don’t want to put it away. The coffee mugs are enormous (a real plus in my book).

I’m also glad that I now don’t feel the need to use our good china during the holidays because the Christmas stuff is so much more festive. What we were thinking buying china that needs to be hand washed, I can’t imagine. When I’m in the kitchen all day, give me stuff that can be popped in the dishwasher.

No china at our house

A couple of years ago I hosted a Christmas fondue dinnner. Using eBay, I purchased several red and green transferware plates. They were all different and made an affordable, interesting, and beautiful table setting.

I have a set of Spode that I love; comes out after Thanksgiving through New Years. I have all kinds of little serving pieces and cheese knives, baby dishes and cups. Placemats with the Spode pattern (they have the cork backing). I really want the soup tureen. I just love Christmas!

I never had Christmas china, but when my Mom closed up her house, I took some of hers. It’s somewhere in my basement, hopefully I’ll have cleaned things up by the time Christmas rolls around. I have no idea where I put it.

Pfaltzgraf Red Ribbon pattern that’s discontinued but I’ve added to my collections through online sales.

Spode Christmas Tree, a set composed of annual gifts from my parents during the years we spent Christmas with them. I use if from day after Thanksgiving till New Years.

What about Thanksgiving china? :)

This thread could make a rich person feel like they’re not really rich.

Believe it or not…we have a turkey platter and matching small luncheon plates. Don’t ask…my mom collected dishes.

I do not have Easter china. This is an annual surprise to my husband.

Thumper, I have a turkey platter. Plates too. Glad I’m not alone! Who has the hot chocolate cups shaped like Santa’s head? Mine were rescued from one of Dad’s regular household purges!
