<p>You should check to see if your child’s school has a policy about gifts to faculty and staff. Many do. I prefer to give gifts to the school in honor of a particular teacher or teachers. Depending on your school some ideas could be</p>
<p>A gift to the annual fund
A gift to an endowed fund that supports an area of interest to the faculty member
A gift in support of an extra curricular with which the faculty member is involved (expenses of the debate team, for example)
Chapel flowers for a week
Flowers for a public area of the school, such as admissions, the faculty room, department office
A book or books for the library</p>
<p>If you want to give a gift directly to the teacher, in addition to gift cards, potted bulbs, holiday flowering plants, really nice hand soap, soy or beeswax candles are all nice gifts that I think most people enjoy.</p>
