Chuck Palahniuk

Anyone a Chuck Palahniuk fan?

The Second Rule Of The Chuck Palahniuk Fan Club Is You Do Not Talk About The Chuck Palahniuk Fan Club.

Good point.

Sorry.

Hahaha. Yes, I am one. How exactly do you pronounce Palahniuk by the way?

Polo-na-hook

No, I’m pretty sure it’s Paula-Nick. Ukrainian.

<a href=“The Village Voice - %”>The Village Voice - %;

Hmm, weird. Lots of other places cite it as “Paula-nick,” but I guess they could be all wrong.

According to Palahniuk’s website, it’s “Paula Nick”.

How do you pronounce nihilism and existentialism?

existentialism - pronounced how it is looks
nihilism - pronounced like “neal-ism”

I’m a huge fan. Didn’t like his latest that much (the collection of short stories/interviews) but Choke, Survivor, Diary, Fight Club all blew my mind.

Any of you guys read anything by Irvine Welsh? I got into him around the same time as Palahniuk, so I think they’re more closely connected in my mind then they are in reality, but regardless, he’s a great author. Trainspotting is his big one, got turned into a movie.

So, there was this kid at my school last year who was obsessed with Fight Club, and he would carry around this tattered old copy of it, and had all these notes and scribbles in it. So he made his own Fight Club of freshman boys that fought in the alley after school. But all good things must come to an end and the school sent home this hilarious letter about it. Of course this year’s freshman class had to top last year’s with a Sex Club.

Oh, and isn’t nihilism pronounced “nile-ism” not “neal”?

haha, yeah - it is. i don’t know why i typed that.

Did anyone know that he’s gay?

Wait, so the Freshman fight club was actually inspired by Fight Club the book? I figured it was just some stupid freshman fighting (not that I didn’t go watch), and that maybe they’d seen the movie. As for the Sex Club, I’ll believe it when I see it (on the Internet, most likely).

Titanz-I found out Chuck P was gay not too long ago. Fight Club definitely has some homosexual undertones, but at the same time, I wouldn’t have guessed it

Yeah, he was hardxcore.
I know, I’ve heard different things about the Sex Club, but I hope it’s true. I mean, not like that. It just…has to be. If it does exist, it’s based on a point system. How awesome is that?

I liked Fight Club the movie better than Fight Club the book.

Sorry.
