Just a reminder in case any of you are wondering what you should have for dinner tonight. It’s time for Mexican food!

I never wait for 5 de mayo for Mexican food!

^^ We don’t either but it’s still a good excuse.

I made bbqued ribs on the grill and homemade guacamole. Odd combination, I know - but I really wanted the guacamole! Happy 5th!

We prefer to celebrate a birthday, much more important to us.

CAMARONES AL AJILLO! oh wait… that’s what I bought for lunch…

we have mexican food every week. We don’t need a holiday!
H and D did go to a Cinco de Mayo and men’s volleyball game watching party. UCSB versus USC.

Yeah, but I usually only have TACOs (lingua!) at lunchtime…today, I had camarones!

Unless, someone’s birthday is cinco de mayo like my friend’s ;)

Cinco de mayo birthday here. Feliz cumpleanos a mi :).

Good - you should consume lots of guac and avocados.
(I grow avocados - maybe you’ve even had some of mine.)

^Wow! Do you grow them commercially? Farmer’s market? CSA?

We celebrated with Sapporo and “fake” sushi that had some avocado in it. :)

I totally forgot it was Cinco de Mayo. Ate Japanese :(

I never really celebrated Cinco de Mayo, but that’s because the 5th of May is also the anniversary of the death of Bobby Sands.

30 years…

Wooo tequila shots!

Bobby Sands. That name is a blast from the past.

My old boss, an O’Riordan if there ever was one, swore up and down that Bobby Sands wasn’t Irish.

Not only was he Irish, he often spoke and wrote in Irish while in prison (I have a book of his prison writings, some are in Irish). He was a symbol for the national liberation and unity that a majority of people in Ireland wanted. Though it’s funny that he won a British parliament election.

*Tiocfaidh

I made a Mexican Kashi Pilaf with corn, onion , red and jalepeno pepper , garlic , cilantro and lime juice. It was pretty tasty…daughter made a mango / avocado marguarita…looked a little odd for my taste , but she liked it
I wish I could grow avocados…love them !
