So I am on route to complete many of my school’s capstone courses by the end of my sophomore year. Since many of those courses are of the subject that I would like to potentially major in, I am wondering, what sort of affects taking courses at my local city college would have on my admissions. Thanks
It would be beneficial. Colleges like to see you taking more rigor in your classes.
This is called dual enrollment or Running Start or CollegeNow or PSEO. You could take 4 classes each semester and if you do well it’d indicate strongly that you can do well in college. However, the trap is to stop your HS extra curricular involvement and not replacing it with college extra curriculars; varsity high school sports can’t be replaced with college sports and being the HS kid in a college club makes it less likely that you’ll reach a leadership position or be given the opportunity to have an impact on the situation your club is addressing. So you have to balance both.
@MYOS1634 So academics at city college and EC’s/Sports at HS
Yesw as much as possible. If you can do research/work with a professor at the first college it counts too.
@MYOS1634 thanks
